Valentia Harbour is an ideal location for sailing, whether you are a novice wanting to get your feet wet for the first time, or a hardened seaman ready to take on the challenge of the wind & sea – Valentia Harbour has it all. It is perfectly situated to offer many routes for all levels of experience and an opportunity to create super memories of sailing the waters in the most westerly harbour in Europe!
For ISA Approved Sailing Courses (Level 1, 2 and 3) are run throughout the summer months from Valentia Island Sea Sports & Adventures, as spaces are limited advance booking is essential. Valentia Island Sea Sports also rent out small sail boats to qualified persons, again advance booking essential.

Kayaking
Valentia Harbour and surrounding islands are ideally suited for Kayaking from the inexperienced beginner through to the open sea professional we have it all here. Pack a picnic and head off for a day kayaking around the harbour, visit the seals on Beginis Island or head to Glanleam Beach for a dip … the options are endless! Lessons, kayak rental, along with wet suits & life jackets are available on the island throughout the summer months.
